Dear Friends,

Thank you to all of you who supported my run for the Palm Springs Unified School District Board of Education. Your support means more than I can express. While we were not successful, I am happy with how this campaign was waged and how we got our message of "New Leadership for our Kids" out to the community.

I will remain active in our education system here in the desert and work to promote the achievement of all our kids. We must make sure that we build first-rate schools, invest in technology, and support our teachers and staff as we face difficult economic times. We must all become engaged in our schools. Without community support we can't expect to see the necessary progress we desperately need.

At this time, I do plan on running for this position again in 2010. I am passionate about our education system and feel I can provide the right kind of leadership as we move forward. I still believe that we need to have a school board member that has children in the schools and even after the 2008 election cycle we do not.
